Garden Hose
A garden hose, hosepipe, or simply hose is a flexible tube used to convey water. There are a number of common attachments available for the end of the hose.
Water Hose
PVC water hose is the most common type of water pipe on the market, usually used to transport domestic water and wastewater. You will also often see this type of water pipe in the garden. It is popular for its lightness and durability.
High Pressure Hose
High-pressure hose conveys water, cleaning solutions, and hydraulic fluid. This type of hose is constructed to endure high pressure (PSI). Generally, a hose is considered high pressure if it can withstand a working pressure of 3,000 pounds per square inch (PSI) or more.

Precautions for Using PVC Pipe
Make sure PVC pipe is easily identifiable as to the type and use. Where dangerous misuse can occur, use different fittings or end connections.
Make sure your PVC pipe is the correct length for the job intended. Remember to engineer for a possible -4% contraction to +5% elongation at max working pressure on the PVC pipe assembly.
Set up regular PVC pipe inspections before each use so that damaged or worn PVC pipe assemblies can be replaced.
Attach PVC pipe using proper elbows and nipples, so that its operation (including its own weight and heavy end connections) will not cause it to bend sharply at the coupling. Support PVC pipe ends with heavy couplings attached.
Avoid subjecting PVC pipe to damage by vehicles, falling rocks, or other objects. It is easy to install protective covers on PVC pipe.
Check manufacturer's chemical resistant charts to insure the PVC pipe will transfer the chemical before it is put in the PVC pipe.
Store PVC pipe in a cool, dry, dark, and clean place.
Always wear safety clothing, gloves, boots, hard hat, and eye protection when using a PVC pipe.
Educate all employees on how to inspect a PVC pipe before each use to insure it is safe to use along with correct PVC pipe use and care.
Store PVC pipe in a flat coil. Be sure no kinks are left in the coil. Lay it on the floor, a shelf or table. Long lengths are best stored on PVC pipe reels.
Protect PVC pipe from the effects of ozone (O3), the active form of oxygen which is more prevalent than most people think.
